Nostalgia bias affected my score here. It's really really cheesy and I cringed at times, but kid-me absolutely loved this film and it's exactly as I remember 🤣
edit: Just gone to watch the original fake the actual Ray Santilli made in 1995, it's CRAZY how accurately they replicated it for this!
While I still thoroughly enjoyed this episode, and the trio are still very entertaining, I've started to find the Specials formula quite predictable and repetitive. Both Top Gear and The Grand Tour have been very consistent and strangely important parts of my life so far, and I think I'm finally ready to say goodbye soon, even if I don't want to 😭
So fuckin' badass and cool, heart-wrenching, heart-warming, I'm overcome with emotion and I love this film so much.
Edit: Even after a second watch 😭
I love coming-of-age films, so this was no exception. Also LOVED the character design - that deep red/orangey colour looks soooo goooood, their facial expressions are something else (especially the sparkly/star-struck eyes) - and the whole boy band aspect too.
